Additional Information:

The Atlanta, GA office has been in operation since January 2000. The original focus was trading rail grain from the Eastern Corn-belt into the Southeast Feed Market. Over the years we have evolved into mainly farmer based marketing. We focus on growers throughout the Southeast, predominately corn, beans and wheat. We provide forward contracting and risk management options for our customers such as basis, flat price and hedge to arrive contracts. Most of our logistics is handled with trucks moving from farm to end-user, however we are looking at future opportunities with rail, barge, and container trade as well.

One of the newest highlights to the Atlanta office is working with our sister company, Sesaco Corporation, which we were introduced to in 2012 through the Mitsubishi network. As the Sesaco Corporation looked to grow their Sesame production to the Southeast, they came to FGDI for assistance gaining access to growers interested in the new crop. We find that Sesame fits very well into producers operations here in the Southeast as it is a durable dry land crop and provides many benefits as a rotational crop. We look at sesame to continue to grow as a significant business opportunity in our Atlanta office.
