Corn comprises about 70 percent of the commodities Agrex Inc. handles. The majority of the corn and all of the milo that Agrex Inc. ships is ultimately used as livestock feed. Many domestic customers feed the grain to animals. The majority of foreign buyers of Agrex Inc. products are companies that manufacture compound feeds. The compound feeds are bagged and shipped by the manufacturer to the end user as a complete livestock ration.
Most Agrex Inc. corn that is not sold for animal consumption is marketed to mills that extract the corn's starch content. The starch is often further refined into sweeteners, such as high-fructose corn syrup. The starch in waxy corn is used in snacks for human consumption.

Oilseed and Oils

Soybeans are milled primarily to extract their oil, which is used as an additive in a great deal of consumer foods. By-products of these and other commodities are an important source of revenue for Agrex Inc. Each of these specialty commodities have one or more unique characteristics that add value for Agrex Inc.'s customers.

Feed Ingredients

Includes Soybean Meal, Canola Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Beet Pulp Pellets, Alfalfa Pellet, Rye, Wheat Bran, Cotton Seed, Hay and other feed ingredients. The specialty commodities Agrex Inc. handles are corn gluten meal, beet pulp pellets and cotton seed. Corn gluten meal and beet pulp pellets are used as high protein feed supplement for livestock. Cotton seed is fed to livestock as roughage. Agrex Inc. provides quality alfalfa hay for dairy or feeder cattle in either cubes, 30kg bales or 400kg bales. Agrex Inc. has been providing high quality alfalfa products to dairies and feeders in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan as well as U.S. domestic markets since 1989.
